Jacob Lutz is an actor who collaborates with Scott Pincus. He is best known for his role as Axel Gunner in the Bread's Crumbs Cinematic Universe. He made an unintended cameo in Bread's Crumbs 2: Electric Boogaloo, and was officially introduced to the series as Axel Gunner in The Two Man Trio. He reprised the role several times over the next few years, in Bread's Crumbs 4: Mass Consumption, Kaine West: No Salvation, The World Returns (in which he also played Zebulon), and most recently Bread's Crumbs 5: Forgotten Future.

Biography[]

2015[]

Jacob made an "accidental cameo" in Bread's Crumbs 2: Electric Boogaloo. While Scott filmed a scene in their high school engineering room, Jacob was seen sitting with Ryan Grier (who also made an "accidental cameo"). The reason this was an "accidental cameo" is because Jacob would go on to play Axel Gunner later in the series, which wasn't planned at the. In 2017, Jacob was confirmed to have played Axel Gunner  during his cameo.

2016[]

In December 2016, Scott invited Jacob to join the cast of The Legend of the Creepy Guy in the Woods, in which he plays a minor character credited as Lutz. The film marked Jacob's first collaboration with Scott. The project was released several months later in March.

2017[]

In April 2017, Jacob was cast as the main villain of The Two Man Trio, the last Bread's Crumbs interquel. He shot his scenes that month, with the film being released in May. The Two Man Trio served as his first major film role.

Also in April, Scott approached Jacob about building a helmet for a new, main antagonist in Bread's Crumbs 4: Mass Consumption called The Creator. Jacob began constructing the helmet that month, loosely basing it off of Scott's original designs for it.

On May 8, Jacob was confirmed to return as Gunner in Bread's Crumbs 4: Mass Consumption. He was set to participate in the production in either May or June, but due to scheduling conflicts was unable to participate in filming. Jacob and Eric Gorbaty were dropped from the cast on July 20, but Jacob was ultimately able to film his scenes the next day. Bread's Crumbs 4 was subsequently released in August.

2019[]

On February 12, Scott asked Jacob to return as Axel Gunner in Kaine West: No Salvation, and he agreed to do so. His return was confirmed on February 15, ending his extensive acting hiatus. He filmed his scenes in April 2019, and the film was released in September.

2020[]

On June 16, Jacob agreed to appear in The World Returns, a new Bread's Crumbs interquel set after the ending of Kaine West: No Salvation. He filmed his scenes on July 7, appearing as the ghost of Axel Gunner. He also debuted as a new villain, Zebulon the Executioner, an alien assassin. Jacob provided the costume for Zebulon, and synced the character's mouth movements to the dialogue spoken by Josh Lambright. The short was released in late-September.

On July 31, Jacob filmed his scenes as Axel Gunner for Bread's Crumbs 5: Forgotten Future, the series' final main installment. Jacob was planned to participate in two more days of filming after this; in October, he was set to film a scene involving Axel's resurrection, alongside Dakota Markle, Alex Fanelli and Jordan Winfield, who was in Downingtown for the weekend. Jacob called off the filming session due to a COVID scare, but planned to film on October 24. However, he unexpectedly dropped from filming the day before. Jacob was also set to return as Zebulon the Executioner, and started crafting a new helmet for Alex Fanelli's intended cameo as Zergo. Neither roles came to fruition.

2021[]

After the filming cancellations in October, in March 2021 Jacob turned down any plans to complete his scenes for reasons unknown. By May, Scott concluded that he couldn't complete his scenes. Though less than half Jacob's scenes were shot, Scott was able to "tell the most meaningful part" of Axel's story in the film.

As a result of Jacob's departure, Zebulon and Zergo were cut. Dakota Markle filmed a separate cameo, initially planned to appear alongside Jacob as Zebulon. Scott remains open to working with Jacob again. He later saw him in May 2022, nearly two years after filming his Bread's Crumbs 5 scenes.
